The performance is sponsored, in part, by the Standard Journal.

Houston Ballet II tours both nationally and internationally and have performed in Mexico, China, Hungary, Guatemala, Germany and Switzerland where Houston Ballet II performed at the prestigious Prix de Lausanne dance competition in February 2013.

ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE PIECES
The Sleeping Beauty, Act III
The court is celebrating the wedding of Princess Aurora and Prince Florimund. Characters from other fairy tales have joined the celebration. After Aurora and Florimund’s grand pas de deux, the occasion ends as the entire court joins in the finale.

Don Quixote, Pas de Deux
A fiesta is held to celebrate the marriage of Kitri, the inn keepers daughter, and Basilio, the town barber. The two young lovers celebrate their betrothal by dancing a grand pas de deux.

A Dance in the Garden of Mirth
Set to music of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, A Dance in the Garden of Mirth was designed to capture the vibrancy and joy present in the music and gatherings associated with that time period. Ittells the story of a particular type of music and the way that music can affect people.
