Dramatic Reading of “Hercules” to take place at Weis Center

Theater of War Productions will present a dramatic reading of scenes from Madness of Hercules by Euripides on Thursday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center. 70 Coal Region Residents Attended Tamburitzans Performance thanks to PPL Foundation Grant

The Weis Center for the Performing Arts recently welcomed folk music and dance ensemble, The Tamburitzans, on Friday, February 7 at 7:30 p.m. The Tamburitzans presented a stage production that transported audiences to the heart of intriguing international cultures from around the globe, including: Croatia, Georgia, Norway, Russia, Serbia, Poland, Ireland and Bulgaria. The ensemble featured 29 young professionals in a production that featured festive costumes, bold visuals, daring acrobatics, and musical variety. Cuban Contemporary Dance Company Leaps onto Weis Center Stage: Special rate for local youth taking dance classes

Cuban-based contemporary dance company, Malpaso Dance Company, will leap onto the Weis Center’s stage on Tuesday, February 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center. In the short span since its establishment in 2012, Malpaso Dance Company has already become one of the most sought-after Cuban dance companies with a growing international profile. Free Family-Friendly President’s Day Concert at Weis Center

Eric Ian Farmer and his band will perform folk and roots music on Monday, February 17 at 2 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium. This is a free family-friendly President’s Day performance and tickets are not required. Patrons are encouraged to come early. The Exchange’s Art Cart will be on-site from 1-2 p.m. with special all-ages activities related to this performance. All attendees are asked to bring a canned food item, which will be distributed to local families in need through Union County Children and Youth Services. Ukraine Symphony Orchestra and Acclaimed Cellist Come to Weis Center

The National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine will perform works by Poleva, Shostakovich and Schumann on Sunday, February 9 at 4 p.m. at the Weis Center.
