The Weis Center for the Performing Arts has received a $50,000 grant from the Association of Performing Arts Professionals as part of its new program, APAP ArtsForward, which supports the performing arts field’s safe, vibrant, and equitable reopening and recovery.  Through the generous support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, APAP ArtsForward awarded $2.065 million to 47 partnerships between presenting organizations and artists. Blount Brings Old-Time Music to New Audiences Traditional folk and roots musician Jake Blount will perform on Wednesday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Campus Theatre, 413 Market Street in downtown Lewisburg. This past Sunday, American Patchwork Quartet came to the Weis Center to kick off the Springseason. The musicians worked harmoniously together to create their own spin off of traditionalAmerican folk songs. It was beautiful to see band members of various cultural backgroundscome together to highlight that there is not just one definition of “American”. I enjoyed the blendof traditions and I could tell that the other patrons did as well. Something about the folk tunesand overlays of vocals and instrumental segments gave audience members a sense of comfortand feeling at home. ~Katherine Leschner, Class of 2023
