Weis Center Kicks Off Spring Season on January 30

Note: All performances take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall, unless otherwise noted. The Weis Center’s spring 2024 season kicks off on Tuesday, January 30 with a family-friendly performance of Hamid Rahmanian’s Song of the North, a large-scale, cinematic performance combining the manual art of shadow puppetry with projected animation to tell the courageous tale of Manijeh, a heroine from ancient Persia, who must use all her strengths and talents to rescue her beloved from a perilous predicament and help prevent a war. Weis Center Celebrates Holiday Season with “A Mariachi Christmas”

The Weis Center for the Performing Arts will welcome Mariachi Herencia de México on Thursday, November 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center. This performance will include both traditional mariachi music and holiday favorites. Celebrate the holidays with “A Mariachi Christmas” featuring Mariachi Herencia de México. World Musician from Ghana Returns to the Weis Center with New Project

The Weis Center for the Performing Arts will welcome Okaidja Afroso back to the Weis Center on Tuesday, November 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center. He will present a new project called “Jaku Mumor” that combines African oral tradition, percussion, guitar, dance and native language vocals. Indie-Pop/Americana Artist Alissa Moreno to Perform in Free Concert at the Weis Center

The Weis Center for the Performing Arts will present singer-songwriter Alissa Moreno on Friday, November 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium. The performance is free and tickets are not required. The performance is co-sponsored with Bucknell Music Department Gallery Series. Alissa Moreno was born on a small Navajo reservation, grew up in Albuquerque, N.M., and studied vocal composition and performance at the College of Santa Fe.
