Jazzmeia Horn, jazz vocalist, shined on the Weis Center stage with her band this Thursday evening. Her energy was palpable and present in everything about her, from her vibrantly colored outfit to her wide vocal range and fast moving, upbeat tempo songs. The way she and her band members were able to interact with each other and the audience created a warm and intimate environment, in which the viewers were truly immersed in the performance. One of America’s foremost classical pianists, Jeremy Denk, will perform on Sunday, September 22 at 2 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. Denk will also give a free public masterclass on Saturday, September 21 at 5:30 p.m. at Rooke Recital Hall in the Weis Music Building. Panda’s Home, an enchanting and interactive performance that allows audience members to take a journey to ancient China, following the footprints left by a panda, will be presented by Italian-based company Compagnia TPO on Saturday, May 11 during three public performances: 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. Underneath a Magical Moon, a reimagining of Peter Pan as told by Wendy Darling, will fly into Lewisburg on Saturday, April 13 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. Both performances are 60 minutes in length, without an intermission. The Family Discovery performance is suggested for grades K-5.
