Dubbed the “new soul of Americana,” Kaia Kater will perform folk music as part of the Weis Center’s annual season on Wednesday, November 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Campus Theatre, 413 Market Street, downtown Lewisburg. Alsarah and the Nubatones will perform as part of the Weis Center’s annual season on Wednesday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Campus Theatre, 413 Market Street, downtown Lewisburg. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. A pre-performance talk with the artists will take place from 6:45-7:15 p.m. that evening. Orpheus Chamber Orchestra will be joined by the unconventional duo of Israeli mandolinist Avi Avital and Latvian accordionist Ksenija Sidorova in a program called Stars Aligned on Saturday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center. The performance is sponsored, in part, by Sam and Nancy Craig. One of the world’s foremost chamber orchestras, Orpheus has recorded 71 albums, including the Grammy Award-winning Shadow Dances: Stravinsky Miniatures, and has commissioned and premiered 48 original works. Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia will present The Rainbow Fish and two other companion stories, Rainbow Fish Discovers the Deep and Opposites on Saturday, November 3 at 11 a.m. at the Weis Center. The Family Discovery performance is suggested for ages 3-7 and has a run time of 60 minutes without an intermission.
