The Weis Center will welcome Taylor Fleming Quartet on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium. The performance is free and tickets are not required. With their roots and education in jazz, this quartet is led by someone who grew up listening to AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. The Weis Center’s 35th Anniversary season will kick-off on Friday, August 26 at 6 p.m. with a free concert by global fusion/brass band Red Baraat on the Weis Center Plaza. The rain location is the Weis Center Concert Hall. Tickets are not required. Patrons are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets. The Weis Center for the Performing Arts has received a $50,000 grant from the Association of Performing Arts Professionals as part of its new program, APAP ArtsForward, which supports the performing arts field’s safe, vibrant, and equitable reopening and recovery.  Through the generous support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, APAP ArtsForward awarded $2.065 million to 47 partnerships between presenting organizations and artists. The $50,000 grant will be split 50/50 between Micaela Taylor and the Weis Center. Blount Brings Old-Time Music to New Audiences Traditional folk and roots musician Jake Blount will perform on Wednesday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Campus Theatre, 413 Market Street in downtown Lewisburg.
