Award-Winning Bluegrass Ensemble, Sister Sadie Comes to Weis Center in Mid-November

The Weis Center for the Performing Arts will welcome award-winning bluegrass ensemble Sister Sadie on Friday, November 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center. The performance is sponsored, in part, by the Williamsport Sun Gazette. Sister Sadie is a wildfire of raging hot bluegrass combined with breathtaking instrumental drive and awe-inspiring vocals. Master of the Mandolin Opens Weis Center’s New Season on Sept. 13

The Weis Center for the Performing Arts will kick-off its new season with bluegrass music by Sierra Hull on Friday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center. The performance is sponsored, in part, by WNEP and the Columbia Montour Visitors Bureau. Sierra Hull is widely regarded as a master of the mandolin. She is a two-time Grammy-nominated artist and songwriter, recognized for her most recent projects, 25 Trips (2020) and Weighted Mind (2016). Weis Center Announces 2024-25 Season that Includes 23 Professional Performances

The 2024-25 season at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts includes 23 professional performances – including world music, classical, contemporary cirque, Americana/bluegrass music, modern dance, and jazz. When patrons return in the fall, they will notice a revitalization to the Atrium. This summer, the Weis Center’s HVAC and architectural lighting systems are being updated with new LED lighting and energy-efficient heating and cooling systems to align with the university’s sustainability practices. Weis Center Presents Folk/Americana Artist Kaia Kater at the Campus Theatre

Dubbed the “new soul of Americana,” Kaia Kater will perform folk music as part of the Weis Center’s annual season on Wednesday, November 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Campus Theatre, 413 Market Street, downtown Lewisburg. Americana/Bluegrass Artist Tim O’Brien Comes to Weis Center

Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tim O’Brien and his Band will bring Americana/bluegrass music to the stage on Saturday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. Tim O’Brien grew up singing in church and in school and after seeing Doc Watson on TV became a lifelong devotee of old time and bluegrass music. After a busy and lively first month of performances in our uphill concert venue, female folk duo Anna & Elizabeth took the Campus Theatre stage in downtown Lewisburg at a nearly sold-out show. The duo channels their Appalachian roots and love for traditional music by delivering a modern, Americana twist that captivated the entire venue. These modern arrangements of old, maritime tunes with an interesting visual component create a unique arrangement that tests the limits of this often forgotten yet fundamental genre. Americana Mountain Music Comes to Campus Theatre as part of Weis Center’s season
