Boston’s Lorelei Ensemble Showcases Early and Contemporary Vocal Repertoire for Women’s Voices

Lorelei Ensemble, an ensemble of nine women who are committed to expanding the repertoire for women’s voices, will perform on Thursday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. There will be a free pre-performance talk with the artists on the same day as the performance from 1-2 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium Lobby. A Far Cry brings “The Blue Hour” to life

It is very rare to witness a multitude of moving artistic parts come together so ingeniously in the name of creating one body of work. This is just what occurred at the Weis Center on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 9 with an exquisite performance of a piece entitled the “The Blue Hour” by A Far Cry string orchestra and vocals from Brazilian jazz singer Luciana Souza. Shanghai Quartet performs with pianist Qing Jiang

The Shanghai Quartet with Qing Jiang, piano will perform Sunday, November 12 at 2 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. They will perform Mendelssohn’s Quartet Op. 12, Penderecki’s Quartet No. 3 (commissioned by the Shanghai Quartet), and Brahms’ Piano Quintet in F minor, Op. 34.
