Space-Themed Puppetry/Theatre Comes to the Weis Center

The Weis Center for the Performing Arts will feature MAROONED! A Space Comedy on Saturday, November 16 at 4 p.m. at the Weis Center. The performance is sponsored, in part, by WBRE. This engagement is made possible through the Mid Atlantic Tours program of the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Arts. The performance is 60 minutes without an intermission and is appropriate for all ages. Multimedia Ensemble Brings Frankenstein to the Stage using Shadow Puppetry, Live Music and Cinematic Effects

Innovative theatre company Manual Cinema will bring the classic gothic tale, Frankenstein, to the Weis Center’s stage on Saturday, November 2 at 7:30 p.m. Love, loss and creation merge in unexpected ways in the performance conceived by Manual Cinema. Stories of Mary Shelley, Victor Frankenstein and his Monster expose how the forces of family, community and education shape personhood—or destroy it by their absence. Silencio Blanco Brings Puppetry to the Weis Center

Silencio Blanco, a touring group of puppeteers who use their puppets to tell stories, will perform twice at Bucknell on Friday, Feb. 17 (2 p.m. and 7 p.m.). As part of the Weis Center’s ongoing series, Coal Collections: Local, National, and International Stories, the ensemble will perform with marionettes made from a newspaper base in order to share stories about the significance of coal mining in Chilean culture.
