Bucknell Economics Professor Offers an Evening of Sufi Fusion at the Weis Center on October 15th

The Weis Center will welcome Shahram Azhar and his Quartet on Thursday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium. The performance is titled, “From the Wound to the Dawn” and will be an evening of raag, thumri and ghazal. (Raag, thumri, and ghazal are foundational concepts in Indian classical and semi-classical music, representing the melodic framework, a romantic vocal genre, and a poetic-musical form, respectively.) Grammy-Nominated Singer, Songwriter and Virtuoso Guitarist Raul Midón to Perform in the Weis Center Atrium

The Weis Center will welcome soul-jazz guitarist Raul Midón on Wednesday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium. The performance is sponsored, in part, by the Standard Journal. Raul Midón is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and guitarist celebrated for his singular fusion of soul, jazz, Latin and acoustic music. World Music Duo from Colombia Performs in Weis Center Atrium, First of Seven Atrium Performances this Season

The Weis Center will welcome Las Áñez, a world music duo from Colombia on Thursday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium. This engagement of Las Añez is made possible in part through the Mid Atlantic Tours program of Mid Atlantic Arts with support from the National Endowment for the Arts in collaboration with Ibermúsicas. Las Áñez is a twin-sister duo combining Colombian traditional and folk with pop and electronic music. Trio Will Perform Works By Schubert, Dvorak, and Smetana at the Weis Center

The Weis Center will welcome classical ensemble Trio Bohémo on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. in the Weis Center Concert Hall. The performance is sponsored, in part, Sam and Nancy Craig.    Trio Bohémo, with Jan Vojtek (piano), Matouš Pěruška (violin), and Kristina Vocetková (cello), has swiftly emerged as a force on the international chamber music scene.
