The Weis Center will welcome classical ensemble Trio Bohémo on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. in the Weis Center Concert Hall.

Trio Bohémo, with Jan Vojtek (piano), Matouš Pěruška (violin), and Kristina Vocetková (cello), has swiftly emerged as a force on the international chamber music scene. Within just five years, the ensemble has garnered prestigious accolades including First Prize and the Audience Prize at the “International Joseph Haydn Competition” in Vienna, “International Parkhouse Award” in London and “International Johannes Brahms Competition” in Austria. Moreover, they are prize winners of competitions such as “Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition” in Australia or “International Joseph Joachim Competition” in Germany to name a few. On top of that the trio was named Ensemble of the Year 2021 by Italian society “Le Dimore del Quartetto” and received a prestigious award by the “Czech Chamber Music Society”.
Debuts followed at leading venues such as the Vienna Musikverein, Wigmore Hall in London, and Stoller Hall in Manchester, as well as major festivals including Prague Spring Festival (CZ), Schwarzwald Musikfestival (DE) and Gent Festival van Vlaanderen (BE). They were repeatedly invited as guests on the BBC Radio’s 3 In Tune show.
In 2024, Trio Bohémo released their debut CD for the label Supraphon featuring works by Smetana and Schubert. The Guardian chose it as the “Classical Album of the Week” alleging the performance to be ‘utterly convincing’, BBC Magazine gave it five stars claiming the performance of Smetana to be an ‘extraordinary standout’. Furthermore, The CD won the ‘Debut Album of the Year’ at the Presto Music Awards 2024.
Trio Bohémo was a member of the “European Chamber Music Academy” from 2020-2022, studying under renowned mentors such as Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl, Patrick Jüdt or Avedis Kouyoumdjian.
The Weis Center program includes: Franz Schubert’s Notturno, Antonín Dvořák’s Piano Trio No. 4 in E minor, op. 90 (Dumky) and Bedrich Smetana’s Piano Trio in G minor, op. 15.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $28 for seniors 62+ and subscribers, $25 for youth 18 and under, $25 for Bucknell employees and retirees (limit 2), free for Bucknell students (limit 1) and $25 for non-Bucknell students (limit 2).
