Paul Taylor Dance Company Will Grace Weis Center Stage, Presenting Three Diverse Works During Bucknell’s Family Weekend

The Weis Center will welcome Paul Taylor Dance Company on Friday, September 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Weis Center Concert Hall, as part of Bucknell University’s Family Weekend festivities.   There will be a free pre-performance talk with Rehearsal Director and former Taylor dancer Cathy McCann on the same day as the performance, from 6:45-7:15 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium. The talk will be facilitated by Bucknell University Associate Professor and Director of Dance, Kelly Knox. Performance Review: Red Baraat

This past Friday, the Weis Center kicked off its 35th season with an invigorating performance by global fusion brass band, Red Baraat. Red Baraat energized adults and kids alike on the plaza outside the Weis Center. The music and collaborative nature of the performers enlivened the audience and allowed them to participate in making music and dancing with the band. Free Weis Center Jazz Concert Features Lewisburg Native

The Weis Center will welcome Taylor Fleming Quartet on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium. The performance is free and tickets are not required. With their roots and education in jazz, this quartet is led by someone who grew up listening to AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. Taylor Fleming Quartet’s love for the traditional and the contemporary fuels creative arrangements of familiar tunes from Miles Davis to Pink Floyd. Global Fusion/Brass Band Red Baraat Kicks Off Weis Center’s Season With Free Concert on Renovated Outdoor Plaza

The Weis Center’s 35th Anniversary season will kick-off on Friday, August 26 at 6 p.m. with a free concert by global fusion/brass band Red Baraat on the Weis Center Plaza. The rain location is the Weis Center Concert Hall. Tickets are not required. Patrons are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
