Africa’s First Female Griot Kora Virtuoso Performs at Weis Center in Free Concert

Sona Jobarteh, the first and only female kora player educating the next generation about their West African traditions, will perform on Tuesday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. The performance is free and tickets are not required. Masks are required. Free Jazz Performance at Weis Center

Jazz ensemble Reverso will perform on Tuesday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Weis Center’s Atrium. Reverso presents original compositions that bridge the divide between jazz and chamber music. Circa Contemporary Circus Returns to Weis Center with New Work: Sacre

Australian-based Circa Contemporary Circus will return to the Weis Center on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. They will present a new work called Sacre. Performance Review: American Patchwork Quartet

This past Sunday, American Patchwork Quartet came to the Weis Center to kick off the Springseason. The musicians worked harmoniously together to create their own spin off of traditionalAmerican folk songs. It was beautiful to see band members of various cultural backgroundscome together to highlight that there is not just one definition of “American”. I enjoyed the blendof traditions and I could tell that the other patrons did as well.
