Unique Ballet/Juggling Performance Coming to the Weis Center

In a unique contemporary cirque event that combines ballet and juggling, Gandini Juggling will present 4 x 4 Ephemeral Architectures on Thursday, November 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. The Family Discovery performance is suggested for ages 8 and older and is 65 minutes without an intermission. It is sponsored, in part, by the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau and Geisinger. Jazz/World Music Vocalist Somi Performs in Free Show at Weis Center

Jazz and world music vocalist Somi will perform on Wednesday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium Lobby. The performance is free and tickets are not required. There will be a free pre-performance talk with the artist from 6:45-7:15 p.m., also in the Atrium Lobby. Linden Lewis, Associate Dean of Faculty, Division of Social Sciences will facilitate. Americana/Bluegrass Artist Tim O’Brien Comes to Weis Center

Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tim O’Brien and his Band will bring Americana/bluegrass music to the stage on Saturday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. Tim O’Brien grew up singing in church and in school and after seeing Doc Watson on TV became a lifelong devotee of old time and bluegrass music. Tim first toured nationally in the 1980s with Colorado bluegrass band Hot Rize. Mermaid Theatre to Bring Two Beloved Children’s Books to Life

Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia returns to the Weis Center, this time bringing two beloved children’s books to life, Guess How Much I Love You and I Love My Little Storybook on Saturday, October 21 at 1 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. The Family Discovery performance is ideal for ages 3-7. The performance will run for 60 minutes without an intermission. Anna and Elizabeth deliver a blend of modern and traditional musical flavors

After a busy and lively first month of performances in our uphill concert venue, female folk duo Anna & Elizabeth took the Campus Theatre stage in downtown Lewisburg at a nearly sold-out show. The duo channels their Appalachian roots and love for traditional music by delivering a modern, Americana twist that captivated the entire venue. These modern arrangements of old, maritime tunes with an interesting visual component create a unique arrangement that tests the limits of this often forgotten yet fundamental genre. Sea Island Gullah Music Comes to Weis Center in Free Outdoor Concert

Sea Island Gullah music by Ranky Tanky will be featured on Thursday, September 7 at 6 p.m. outside on the Weis Center Plaza. The family-friendly performance is free and tickets are not required.
