Free World Music Performance at Weis Center Will Bridge Japanese and Indian Cultures

Koto visionary Yumi Kurosawa will be joined by world-renowned tabla player Anubrata Chatterjee for a performance that bridges the cultures of Japan and India on Sunday, February 10 at 2 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium. The performance is free and tickets are not required. The performance illuminates the deep-rooted similarities of their craft while highlighting their affinity and respect for one another as virtuosic performers. Indian Dance Ensemble Returns to Weis Center with New Performance Piece, Samhara

Nrityagram Dance Ensemble will bring Indian classical dance to the stage on Thursday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center. There will be a free pre-performance talk with the artists on Tuesday, October 16 at 1 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium. The performance is sponsored, in part, by Centre Daily Times. One of the premiere Indian classical dance ensembles performing today, Nrityagram had the unprecedented distinction of making The New York Times‘ “Best Dance of the Year” list in 2015 and 2016.
