Lorelei Ensemble to perform with members of the Bucknell University Choirs at the Weis Center

Boston’s Lorelei Ensemble will join forces with members of the Bucknell University Choirs to present James Kallembach’s new oratorio Antigone: the Writings of Sophie Scholl on Thursday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. Beth Willer will serve as conductor for the performance. The performance is free and tickets are not required. In the first half of the Weis Center performance, Lorelei Ensemble will present choral works by John Luther Adams, Maggie Payne, David Lang and Pavel Chesnokov. Lorelei Ensemble Dazzles Weis Center

The Weis Center is no stranger to hosting talented vocal performance groups. Artists representing diverse cultures and vocal styles have graced our stage over the years and while Thursday’s March 1 Lorelei Ensemble performance may fall in the “vocal group” category, the transcendent vocal magic created by the ladies of Lorelei belongs in a category of its own. Boston’s Lorelei Ensemble Showcases Early and Contemporary Vocal Repertoire for Women’s Voices

Lorelei Ensemble, an ensemble of nine women who are committed to expanding the repertoire for women’s voices, will perform on Thursday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts.
