Peking Acrobats Return to the Weis Center
The Peking Acrobats will bring Chinese acrobatics to the stage on Friday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center. For the last thirty two years, the Peking Acrobats have redefined audience perceptions of Chinese acrobatics. They perform daring maneuvers atop a precarious pagoda of chairs and display their technical prowess at such arts as trick-cycling, precision tumbling, juggling, somersaulting, and gymnastics. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Weis Center: Traditional Irish Ensemble Danú to be Featured
Danú will present traditional music of Ireland in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day on Tuesday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center. Patrons can enjoy free pre-performance music from Bucknell Music Department students from 6:45-7:15 p.m. in the Atrium. Dramatic Reading of “Hercules” to take place at Weis Center
Theater of War Productions will present a dramatic reading of scenes from Madness of Hercules by Euripides on Thursday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center. 70 Coal Region Residents Attended Tamburitzans Performance thanks to PPL Foundation Grant
The Weis Center for the Performing Arts recently welcomed folk music and dance ensemble, The Tamburitzans, on Friday, February 7 at 7:30 p.m. The Tamburitzans presented a stage production that transported audiences to the heart of intriguing international cultures from around the globe, including: Croatia, Georgia, Norway, Russia, Serbia, Poland, Ireland and Bulgaria. The Tamburitzans brought Croatian, Georgian, Nordic, Russian, Serbian, Polish, Irish, and Bulgarian cultures to Lewisburg this past Friday. It was an incredible performance and included live musical instruments, singing, and dancing. Each piece was representative of a new culture. Through dance and music, the audience traveled through these intriguing countries around the world and got a taste of what the culture is like. Free Family-Friendly President’s Day Concert at Weis Center
Eric Ian Farmer and his band will perform folk and roots music on Monday, February 17 at 2 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium. Allison Miller and her band Boom Tic Boom presented In Our Veins: Rivers and Social Change on Friday, Jan. 24. The performance consisted of a wonderful live band, a tap dancer, and captivating projections to encompass what the program is all about.
