Performance Review: Nrityagram Dance Ensemble
The Nrityagram dance ensemble performed at the Weis Center on October 13th at 7:30 pm. Accompanied by live musicians the ensemble performed pieces from their newest piece ‘Samhara’, which brings together brilliant Indian dance traditions with shared ancient roots. Nrityagram is more than just one of India’s “premiere classical dance ensembles”; it is also India’s first modern Gurukul for Indian classical dances and an intentional community in the form of a dance village. Orpheus Chamber Orchestra to be Joined by Accordion and Mandolin Duo at Weis Center
Orpheus Chamber Orchestra will be joined by the unconventional duo of Israeli mandolinist Avi Avital and Latvian accordionist Ksenija Sidorova in a program called Stars Aligned on Saturday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center. Popular Children’s Book, The Rainbow Fish, Comes to Life at the Weis Center
Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia will present The Rainbow Fish and two other companion stories, Rainbow Fish Discovers the Deep and Opposites on Saturday, November 3 at 11 a.m. at the Weis Center. The Family Discovery performance is suggested for ages 3-7 and has a run time of 60 minutes without an intermission.
